Restaurant
The "Mediterraneo" restaurant has an air-conditioned dining room. There is a buffet service at breakfast, lunch and dinner (water, wine, beer, coca-cola and orange soda in pitchers are included during the meals). Take Away Caretta Caretta: the ideal place to enjoy delicious typical dishes. At breakfast there is the Sleepy Corner (it is possible to have a soft breakfast from 10:00 to 11:30, with american coffee and croissants). Wellness area with specific products for the guests that choose a healthy lifestyle. For the guests with food intolerances (gluten, lactose) there are basic packaged ingredients and the clients can also bring their own products. The hotel management must be informed during the booking. There is a baby-bottle area for the parents, near the restaurant, equipped with microwave, bottle warmer and basic ingredients (pastina, vegetable and meat stocks, vegetable puree). In the bar by the pool (from 10:00 to 22:00) unlimited water, orange soda, coca-cola, one fruit juice, iced tea, a granita (all on tap and served in plastic cups). Surcharge required for: national/foreign alcoholic drinks and spirits, coffee bar, bottled water, ice cream, snacks and packaged products and everything that is not included in the Soft Inclusive formula.

Locality
Carovigno is a town in the northern Salento, in the province of Brindisi. It is an important tourist locality full of agricultural/farming traditions, wonderful "masserie" and agritourisms and an important historical patrimony. All of this is accompained by a wonderful sea with a rich marine fauna. Its sea is spectacular and was awarded with a "bandiera blu" in 2007 and 2016. Its coast is low and rocky, full of coves and inlets, which is why it is called "Costa Merlata" from Ostuni to Brindisi.

Places to know and visit
Carovigno's historical centre surely deserves a visit. It has messapian origins: many evidences of tombs dated back to that age were found outside the medieval city walls; it developed on the acient acropolis. The original urban nucleus, probably from the high middle age, developed around the Sant'Angelo Church. The plan of the city is elliptical and has two square-plan towers and two round-plan towers.

Ruins of Messapian walls in Carbina. Before being destroyed by the Tarantini, this wall was part of a system of fortified centres: Ostuni, Ceglie, Mesagne, Oria. Just like these centres, Carbina was situated on a hill in Brindisi, taking advantage of its position for defensive purposes. The acropolis occupied the highest part of the hill and was protected by the first and more ancient circle of gigantic walls. Other two circles of walls protected the burial area. The only remainings left are the ruins of the second circle of walls by the cemetery.

Torre Guaceto, built to defend the coast from the continuous Saracen attacks. It rises on a small promontory between two amazing inlets. It has a square structure with big drains on the sides, typical feature of the coastal towers in Otranto. Today, it hosts an observatory controlled by the W.W.F. that supervises the surrounding area and the marine reserve. The presence of many rare species, both in the flora and the fauna of the moist area, led to the opening of a small museum inside the tower visited by numerous tourists every year.

Torre Santa Sabina, in the namesake locality, hosted the "mansio ad Speluance" during the roman age, which was the post office of Via Traiana that offered hospitality to the travellers and took care of the horses. There are no traces left of the ancient angevin tower, while the sixteenth-century house is well-preserved and was recently renovated; it is a private house now. It has a star-shaped plan with four points that stretch towards the four cardinal points.

Castello Dentice di Frasso, located in the highest part of the town, had a strategic defensive position. It has a triangular plant with a square-plan tower on the eastern side, a round-plan tower on the western side and an "almond-shaped"-plan tower on the northen side. The towers overlook the entire coastline from Torre Canne to Brindisi.

Castello di Serranova, wanted by the lord Ottavio Serra in 1629, was built on an ancient nucleus dated back to 1350 of which it kept the original entrance on the first floor, with view on the sea. It has a square-plan tower with a series of drains; adjacent to this tower, there is a more recent building covered in ivy, which makes it look like there is only one building.
