The Villaggio Arco del Saracino is a recently-built modern complex located in Lido Marini, Salento. It is surrounded by the mediterranean scrub, only a few meters far from the beaches with fine golden sand and crystal-clear water, which make the hotel a suitable place for families and groups of friends who want to relax and have fun. The children will be entertained by the staff of the Mini club and Junior club with games and tournaments on the beach during the day and shows, cabaret and themed parties in the amphitheater during the evening. There will also be baby dancing, sports tournaments and/or group courses. There are two pools (one for children), a five-a-side football field and a concrete tennis court where the guests can have fun under the Salento sun. The hotel is 1.5 km far from the "Nereide" beach club, connected to the facility by a free shuttle service. The Villaggio Arco del Saracino offers a "Club Formula" that includes entertaining service, a car park and Wi-Fi connection. The guests can choose between the "Hotel Formula" and the "Residence Formula": 166 exquisitely-furnished apartments, on the first floor with a terrace and on the ground floor with a courtyard, all of them have a reserved car spot; exquisitely-furnished twin, three-bed and four-bed rooms (one-room apartments and two-room apartments with kitchen area) on the first floor with a terrace and on the ground floor with a courtyard, air conditioning, TV, telephone and bathroom with a shower.

Restaurant
The restaurant of the Arco del Saracino has an air-conditioned dining room and a courtyard where the buffet table at breakfast, lunch and dinner is prepared. On occations, at the hotel management's discretion, there is a waiter service. It is possible to reserve a special menu for specific diets and food intolerances. The agreement with the restaurant is available for the entire week.

Locality
Lido Marini is a heavenly maritime locality on the Ionian coast of Low Salento, in the municipality of Ugento, and it's one of the biggest in Puglia. Around 35.000 tourists choose Lido Marini for their summer holidays every year. In fact, it has a 2 km-long golden beach and is situated near places like Torre San Giovanni, Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca, famous for their busy nightlife and night clubs. Lido Marini has an important natural patrimony: sea, beaches, centuries-old olive trees and mediterranean scrub (corbezzolo, myrtle, caper bush and rosemary). Many migratory birds can be observed: herons, mallards and teals.

Places to know and visit
Archeological museum of Ugento. It can be reached walking through the historical center of this little town in the south of Puglia. Here are many important archeological findings such as the bronze statue of Zeus, found in 1961, which became the symbol of Ugento. This statue proves the relationship of Ugento with the Messapian civilization, of which it was one of the leading centers.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, built during the first decades of the eighteenth century in the same place where the old gothic church was situated, was destroyed during the saracenic invasion of 1537. It was consecrated and inaugurated in 1745. Its facade has a neoclassical style and was built in 1855. The inside consists of one nave with a latin-cross plan, many altars and paintings from different ages (some of them belonged to the previous gothic church).

Castello. A habitable trapezoidal-plan fortress built during the norman age and largely modified during the centuries. It has two towers at its extremities. During the eleventh century, Pecicco de Trebigne became the first lord of Ugento, while during the Angevin age Giovanni Conte lived in it (1272). In 1537, when the city was occupied, the fortress was severely damaged (the west wing, two towers and the northern fortified tower were completely destroyed). The Pandone counts (1564) and the d'Amore marquises (1643) restored the building to its original splendor. The structure is currently under maintenance.

The Palazzo Vescovile, built during the seventeenth century, still shows traces of the original sixteenth-century structure. It was completed in 1731 when the atrium, the courtyard and the hallway connecting the side to the center of the castle were built. During the 1960s it was expanded and restored.

The vault of the crucifix was the place of worship of the little surrounding village. It is located in an interesting archeological area which was inhabited since the fourth century B.C., situated on Via Salentina, a roman street which connected Otranto to Taranto, passing through Castra Minervae, Veretum, Uzintum, Baletium, Neretum and Mandrius, as the Tabula Peutingeriana testifies.

Torre Mozza is a beach locality that owes its name to the sixteenth-century tower that overlooks a long stretch of sand. On the outskirts of the town, a part of the coast with salt-water basins is used for aquatic farming. The landscape is full of canals and artificial basins, built around the 1930s during the recovery of these lands. The sighting tower, wanted by king Carlo V in the sixteenth century, was built to protect the coasts from the saracenic invasions. On the top, there was a pile of wood that was lit in case of sighting of saracenic pirate ships, so that the other coastal and internal towers were warned.

The marine of Torre Pali, Alliste, Mancaversa and Torre Suda offer the tourists the opportunity to live unforgettable days by the crystal-clear sea, on golden-sand beaches.
