Mandatoriccio is a seaside resort in the High Ionian Sea, in the province of Cosenza, at 600 meters above sea level and has about 3500 inhabitants, which triples over the summer months due to the large number of tourists. The origins of the village are traced back to around the end of 1500, when the princes of Altavilla Mandatoriccio gave the hill on which the historic center still stands today. The village continued to form throughout the eighteenth century, gradually swollen by populations fleeing the dangers of Muslim piracy and from mountainous areas in search of flat areas.

What to see in Mandatoriccio

In addition to the characteristic historic center, in Mandatoriccio we can visit: the Feudal Castle, built towards the end of the 15th century and located in the highest area of ​​the town, of which it represents the main nucleus; the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, which preserves a precious walnut ceiling inlaid and handcrafted inside, and the Castello dell'Arso, built around the year 1000.

The Marina di Mandatoriccio is characterized by a sandy and pebble beach with equipped facilities and restaurants for a holiday worthy of the blue and transparent sea of ​​this suggestive part of the Ionian coast. The nearby Acquapark Odissea 2000 in Rossano Calabro ensures the fun of young and old with slides, swimming pools, water games for the whole family.
