Montesilvano

Montesilvano is a municipality located north of Pescara, Abruzzo, and is divided in Montesilvano Colle and Montesilvano Marina. Its territory is mainly flat and is situated directly on the Adriatic sea. The tourist industry is one of the main features of the local economy.

Those who stay in Montesilvano can visit: the thirteenth-century church of Madonna della Neve, initially dedicated to San Nicola; the Palazzo Delfico, 1770, that once hosted the town hall; the eighteenth-century parish church of San Michele Arcangelo, located in Piazza Umberto I with a fifteenth-century statue of Madonna della Neve preserved in the medieval bell tower; Villa Verrocchio, a district of Montesilvano where there is the beautiful Villa Delfico, 1800, surrounded by majestic pines of Aleppo; the recently-built church of San Giovanni Bosco with square plan, three naves and cross vaults; the recently-built parish church of Sant'Antonio di Padova, located in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, that was the first church of the new maritime centre.
