Muravera

A charming medieval village located in the alluvial plain of the Sarrabus, shaped by the bed of the Flumendosa. Muravera is one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean with jewel-like beaches, ponds for mountain biking or horseback riding, the Baccu arrodas forest, perfect for trekking. The greatest heritage of Muravera and Sarrabus consists of the splendid beaches which, with their dazzling white sand, are the favorite destination of thousands of tourists who return to these places every year. North of the mouth of the Flumendosa, in the municipality of Villaputzu, is the beach of Porto Corallo, frequented by families with children and surfers, which takes its name from the presence, in its seabed, of coral reefs, used for centuries for valuable goldsmith work. Behind the beach, before the pond of Sa Praia, stands a lonely Spanish watchtower from the 16th century. A little north of the tourist port of Porto Corallo is the beach of Tramatzu, with its white sand and cliffs that delimit its boundaries. Further south, past the ponds of Feraxi and Colostrai, we find Cala Sa Figu, a series of secluded coves and splendid cliffs that culminate in the Capo Ferrato promontory, where a lighthouse stands. Within the municipality of Muravera, the most famous and loved beaches are perhaps those of Costa Rei, very white and with fine sand, one of the most beautiful stretches of coast in all of Sardinia.
