Isola Rossa is an enchanting locality on a small promontory situated north-west of Sardinia, between Costa Paradiso and Castelsardo. Isola Rossa is the perfect place for a fun and relaxing holiday. This promontory is characterized by its red colour and a sixteenth-century spanish tower. Beside the wonderful fine-sand beaches (private and free), there is a modern tourist harbour equipped with many recreational services. Inside the town there is the Lunga beach, the main beach of Isola Rossa; this locality is surrounded by an enchanting cliff with inlets and hiking trails, while north of the promontory there is the Marinedda beach set among red porphyries, between Isola Rossa and the promontory of Li Canneddi.

The islet of Isola Rossa is located 500 meters off the coast, in front of the inhabited centre. This area, characterized by a sheltered inlet, is an oasis with crystal-clear waters and warm sun. Its seafront and square are perfect for the evening walks of adults, young people and children. For centuries, it has been known as a safe landing for boats.

Around 1595, the spanish built a tower on the promontory (35 meters on the sea level) to protect the harbour. It was part of the coastal defensive system against the saracenic invasions but during the following centuries it was used to block the contraband with the nearby Corsica. During the 1960s it became a tourist attraction still visited by thousands of people nowadays.
