The Campoverde Village is a tourist complex located in a 8-hectar pinewood, extension of the natural oasis of Le Cesine, protected by the WWF. It consists of blocks of apartments surrounded by a flourishing mediterranean scrub. Its strategic location, a few steps away from the sea, the wide spaces for many activities and the enchanting nature make the Campoverde Residence the ideal destination for families and for those who love to be in close contact with nature. The village has different types of apartments, a private beach with umbrellas and sunbeds, a big sports center with an american bar, two big pools, a pool for children deep 50 cm, two tennis courts, a five-a-side football field with artificial grass and night lighting, ping-pong, playground for children and theater. The private beach "La Piazzetta" can be reached following a shaded path through the pinewood and, at the end, crossing the street. It is a big sandy beach with beach volley and beach tennis fields, umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, theater, beach bar, restaurant, pizzeria.
Restaurant
The restaurant is situated on the beach and has an internal air-conditioned dining room and an outdoor terrace with sea view. It offers its guests a buffet service with all the main typical dishes (both land-food and seafood dishes) of the gastronomy of Salento. The breakfast room is situated in the main building of the complex. Those who choose the Residence Formula have the chance to make an agreement with the restaurant. Food intolerances must be declared during the booking.
Locality
San Cataldo is located on the Adriatic coast of Salento, in proximity of Lecce: in fact, many people from Lecce visit its beach during the summer. This is the perfect place for those who want to spend an unforgettble holiday by the sea: even if San Cataldo is a really small village, it has long sandy shores with beach clubs and free beaches. The sand is golden and the crystal-clear water is shallow, so its beaches are suitable for children. It is surrounded by greenery, more specifically by a little State Reserve. Nearby, there is also the Natural Reserve Le Cesine, full of a great variety of flora and fauna.
Places to know and visit
Visiting San Cataldo's marine it is possible to see its high lighthouse, situated over an inlet. There is also a little harbour, famous among professional and amateur fishermen, and a nice and well-kept seafront with many palm trees.
EuroPark Roccella, a water park with waterslides (the Big River, the Kamikaze, the Tubular Slide and the Toboga). There is also a designated area for the children and their parents with a pool right next to the adults' one. There is also a lagoon and a whirlpool bath, a five-a-side football field with artificial grass, bumper-boats and a videogame room.
Gabbara is recognized by Italia Nostra and the WWF as a protected area: some areas are covered in eucalyptus trees and don't have bushes, while others are full of durmasts and oak trees and have a bushy undergrowth. At the start of the path there is a small shelter in front of which there are modern stone statues representing wild animals. From a wildlife point of view, this area a few kilometers north-west of San Cataldo is extremely interesting, like the unique fluvial/salt-water environment characterized by the emerging formations of sulphur limestones, gypsus, rock salt.
