What to see in Savelletri
Fasano is the biggest city in the province of Brindisi and includes many important beach localities like Savelletri di Fasano. Savelletri is particularly known for its characteristic harbor and its "white houses" built on a cliff, the fish markets and the many restaurants thet serve delicious regional dishes.
Savelletri has a lot to offer from a historical/cultural point of view as well; in fact, there are many important monuments: the suggestive amphitheater of the ancient city Egnazia, the civic museum, the wonderful renaissance-style Chiesa Matrice, the Torrione delle Fogge, the majestic Palazzo del Balì that is the current town hall and the safari park (among the biggest safari parks of Europe), a wide wildlife park with many rare species adjacent to an amusement park. In proximity of this area, there are the biggest "Masserie" (large farms) of Apulia: Masseria Sant'Angelo de Grecis, Masseria San Domenico and Masseria Narducci.
Savelletri di Fasano is also known for its thermal center. Its coast alternates low cliffs and long white sandy shores touched by a deep-blue sea. These beaches have been recently awarded with a Blue Flag by the Foundation for the environmental education.
