Sorrento is a coastal town of the Sorrento Peninsula, located in front of the bay of Naples. Built on the cliff that separates it from the marina, Sorrento is famous for its views of the sea and Piazza Tasso, dotted with cafes. The landscape that can be admired from Sorrento is unique in the world: the alternation of sea and mountain joins the valleys and terraces of citrus groves. The center of Sorrento is a crossroads of narrow streets and alleys, or thistles and decumans that lie harmoniously above a high tuff terrace 47 meters above sea level, characterized by lush vegetation. One of the main attractions is Piazza Tasso, where there are two statues: one depicts the patron saint, Sant'Antonino Abate, celebrated both 14 February and the first Sunday of May, and the other depicts the great Sorrento poet Torquato Tasso. Also, in the historic center you can visit the Duomo, with neo-Gothic facade, the Church of San Francesco d'Assisi and Villa Silvana, an elegant Art Nouveau house, of the early twentieth century, with a terrace from which you can see the gulf.

Food and wine in Sorrento is considered a real art. It is not by chance that special itineraries and excursions are proposed to discover the ancient flavors of this land. Among the specialties of Sorrento we remember the lemon delight, a dessert created by a local master, heir of the centuries-old pastry art of the Neapolitan area and limoncello, a liqueur known all over the world, obtained from the skins of the famous lemon of Sorrento IGP.
